There are all kinds of facts about cats that can be surprising to the average pet owner. Many people don’t know all the cool things that their best friends are capable of.

One of the most interesting things about cats is their uncanny ability to imitate other creatures for different reasons. Throughout the years cats have seen what results other animals have gotten with different behaviors and have imitated these actions. One example of this is the hissing that they often exhibit when they feel threatened. This is an action that they witnessed snakes doing as a way to protect their territory and they began imitating this to protect themselves as well. Another animal that they imitate is actually humans. They hear the sounds that babies make when they cry and the attention that this gets from their parents. They have learned that if they mimic this they are able to get attention from their owners and receive whatever it is that they want.

Macaw Parrot Toys – Size Does Matter

If you have a Macaw then you know that a big bird needs very big toys. Macaw parrot toys should be properly sized to suit your pet bird. With the sheer size of their body, beak, and wing span, Macaws are notoriously big players. They love to attack and destroy their toys with a passion.

It has been my experience that Macaws love their toys and usually take to one particular toy at a time. However, with such an enormous beak, their favorite toy won’t last long. They have the ability only second to the Cockatoo to shred and destroy just about anything they play with.

When buying and selecting toys for your Macaw parrot, it is best to pick from the jumbo sized toys. Jumbo and extra large toys are made for these types of birds and have the same features as the smaller ones do. The biggest difference is their size. Jumbo toys usually have harder pieces of wood and thicker pieces of fiber rope and may even have stainless chain and a quick link to hang them with.
